He has named Bruce Springsteen and Neil Young as some of his influences, but Kurt Vile has fast become one of rock and roll's big names in his own right. Having previously founded the successful band The War on Drugs, Vile has since focused on his solo career, and as his six studio albums suggest, he's been going from strength to strength as a solo indie-folk singer. He describes his most recent album, b'lieve i'm goin down... (2015), as "all over the place. Everything you can imagine I've done... That's where I'm at now, that I can sort of tap into every world and make it cohesive." It's an ability of Vile's that not many musicians have, making for something rather special during his live performances.
