The Winery Dogs originally formed as a two-man project in 2012 when Billy Sheehan and Mike Portnoy were exploring avenues to work together. However, they later recruited guitarist and vocalist Richie Kotzen and have since gone on to experience huge levels of success around the world.
Based in Los Angeles, the three-piece rock band cite music icons Led Zeppelin and Jimi Hendrix as their main artistic influences, and previous releases include their self-titled debut album and a live album recorded in Japan. Performing at Sala Apolo on February 10th, The Winery Dogs present their second studio album Hot Streak (2015), a thirteen-track record that offers a combination of grunge, Eighties metal and classic rock. Featured song titles include ‘Empire’ and ‘Oblivion’ in an album that, according to Kotzen, takes the band to another level by “widening its musical scope”.
