Born in Mallorca in 1974, Joan Miquel Oliver is a vastly experienced musician who sings and writes songs in Catalan. Despite having disbanded in December 2013, he was also the songwriter and guitarist of the group Antònia Font, a band characterised by their festive music and humorous lyrics. The band’s mixture of melodic precision with poetic surrealism saw them produce eight studio albums and establish themselves as one of the leading groups in Catalan pop.
More recently, Joan Miquel Oliver has embarked on a literary career, publishing works in poetry and theatre, as well as a novel. Citing Greek mythology as one of his main influences, you can see Miquel Oliver performing songs from his latest album, Pegasus (2015), at Sala Apolo on February 4th.
