The Madrid born, English singing songwriter Russian Red (Lourdes Hernández González) has managed to carve herself a niche out of the indie-folk music scene.
Known to many as "Spanish Feist" in reference to the Canadian singer song-writer who's said to inspire some of her many attitudes behind the microphone, González picked up her stage name from the colour of her favorite lipstick.
Russian Red first appeared on the scene back in 2007, when a demo she made with musician Brian Hunt quickly racked up more than 70.000 views on her MySpace page.
Off the back of his success, González teamed up with Andalusian producer Fernando Vacas to publish her debut album “I Love Your Glasses” in 2008. In May 2011, she released her second album "Fuerteventura", this time combining with Scottish producer Tony Doogan.
