Through three generations of painters, this exhibition hopes to explore different aspects of the portrait during the first years of the Belle Époque at the turn of the 20th century.
Looking specifically at self, society, group and open-air portraits by artists such as Toulouse-Lautrec, Manet, Munch and Egon Schiele this show investigates the key components of the artistic movements of the time, revealing the main factors of that age and trying to bridge the history of painting with that of culture and society.
