Pau Codina will be performing as part of the musical project, Residencies Musicals at La Pedrera, which aims to support and raise the profile of some of the best young musicians across the country. Performers will either be working alone or with other musicians. The event will give artists the opportunity to showcase their versatility and talent as well as raise the profile of their careers.
Codina is the son of guitarist Jordi Codina and pianist Rosa Masferrer so it is no surprise that he has become one of the best and most critically acclaimed musicians in the country. Having been accepted into the prestigious Yehudi Menuhin School in London at the age of 14, and then going on to graduate from the Guildhall School for Music and Drama with honours, he is now perfecting his craft at the Chapelle Musical Reine Elisabeth in Belgium under the tuition of Gary Hoffman, who is often considered one of the best cellist of our time.
Amongst many awards, he received first place at the Guilhermina Suggia competition in London, the Martín Scholarship Award in London and first prize in the Juventudes Musicales Permanent Competition in Spain.
At this duo concert, Codina will be performing with guest artist Lilit Grigoryan on the piano. Together they will perform pieces from Beethoven, Debussy and Chopin.
