Wolf Alice are a four-piece alternative rock band from North London who, on February 6th, are trading the clubs of Camden for a night of alternative rock at Razzmatazz. Embarking on their first world tour across Europe and North America, the group initially formed in 2010 as a two-person acoustic act, but later recruited a bassist and a drummer from an online music forum to add an electric element to their sound.
Having only signed their first record deal in 2014, Wolf Alice present their debut album My Love Is Cool (2015), which features notable hits ‘Moaning Lisa Smile’ and ‘Baby Ain’t Made of China’. They have established a huge teen fanbase with their near-constant stream of singles and EP releases, in which softly-spoken melodies erupt into a clamour of hammering percussion, crashing guitars and siren-like riffs. Their musical blend of big guitars with folk stylings has seen the exciting foursome nominated as ‘Best Breakthrough Artist’ at this year’s Brit Awards, recently won by Bastille (2014) and Sam Smith (2015). They have additionally been shortlisted for ‘Best Rock Performance’ at this year’s Grammy Awards, as well as receiving an impressive six nominations at this year’s NME Awards.
Tickets are available from €22.50. More information here.
