The district of Raval comes to life this Thursday as the annual festa major begins. The party offers the chance to enjoy and celebrate the rich cultural diversity of the district, with an eclectic range of world music and food alongside many Catalan traditions such as the castells (human towers) and correfocs (fire runs). The festival begins with a parade of choral music, dancing and gegants (giants), and continues to provide a range of activities for all ages and tastes throughout the weekend, including music, culinary, sports, children’s workshops, cinema, dance and games. Head down to the bohemian barrio for a weekend full of festivities and fun.
