Known for their love of DIY, the Radio Dept. still use a makeshift recording studio and no producer despite having achieved international success. While electronica usually conjures up prospects of the fast-paced and loud, the Radio Dept. have famously taken a more peaceful route, laying low-fi melodies as the backdrop to off-kilter noises. Their unlikely domestic approach has taken them from their namesake car radio shop in Sweden across the globe and onto the international music scene.
