Philip Hensher is considered one of the most influential and renowned writers on the British literary scene today. He is a journalist, university lecturer and author of seven books, and has won various literary prizes including the Somerset Maugham Award and the Stonewall Journalist of the Year. Furthermore, he was shortlisted for the Man Booker Prize and the Commonwealth Prize for his novel The Northern Clemency (2008).
The author will talk about his inspiration and creative process as his novel King of the Badgers (2011) in Castilian. The book, which has received an array of positive reviews, sees Hensher explore the nature of privacy and its violation and, like his other works, is powered by a strong, unconventional sense of morality.
