Summer concerts Miró
The summer Nits de Música at the Fundació Joan Miró are slowly earning a certain reputation.
The band who perhaps best represent this are the Banda d'Improvisadors de Barcelona (BIB) who pride themselves on their improvisational skills and their ability to adapt their performance to their audience and the atmosphere.
Sons Nús follow a similar path, with their intriguing marriage of bass and vocals bringing to life a new and unpredictable sound very difficult to characterise.
Saadet Türköz and Hans Koch, performing on the 22nd, are an eclectic duo, the first a young Turkish-Kazakh singer, the other a Western European saxophonist. Both come from incredibly disparate backgrounds, and produce an act of a lingering solidity which plays with the ideas of memory and identity.
The series will be rounded off by Sophie Agnel and Olivier Benoit, a duo who specialise in creating deeply dense, personal, and original sound. At the end of a hard Thursday, this may just be the best way to sit back and be entertained, enjoying experiences that just do not come around that often.
