It's become a classic for the summer months in Barcelona: the Palau Robert opens its gardens for evening entertainment, to take advantage of the cooler hours of the day.
This year, there are two treats for culture lovers. First up is Carmen. Bizet's popular opera is everywhere in Barcelona at the moment and Palau Robert is getting in on the act with a live screening of the evening's performance from the Gran Teatre del Liceu. So if you couldn't get tickets to the main event, or if you prefer your opera in the open-air, this is for you.
The second event is a screening of Die Fremde (When We Leave, 2010). The German film, directed by Feo Aladag and winner of the Lux'10 Prize of the European Parliament, tells the story of a young Turkish woman living in Germany trying to make an independent life for herself contrary to the wishes of her family. Shown in German with Catalan subtitles.
Carmen, July 27th, 10.15pm
Die Fremde, July 28th, 10.30pm
