Where urban chaos overwhelms us on La Rambla, this modern installation from Emiliana Design Studio brings a soft touch of peace and domesticity. Built on the ramp of Catalán arts centre Santa Mónica, el Nido de Verano, or ¨Nest of Summer¨ features giant orange and black cage-like constructions. The piece was conceived by local design duo Ana Mir and Emili Padrós, whose innovative work in Spain has garnered numerous awards. Designed to coddle the person inside the nest, the installation is a pocket of calm embedded in the noisy crowd.
