Picasso's Passion for El Greco
Museu Picasso Montcada 15-23, 08003 Barcelona

Museu Picasso is temporarily home to a masterpiece by one of the great Renaissance painters, El Greco. The Portrait of an Old Gentleman, is on loan from the Museo Nacional del Prado, Madrid, and is being exhibited alongside 30 of Picasso's works, all inspired by El Greco.
Considered an eccentric painter from Crete and the architect of the Spanish Renaissance, El Greco's dramatic and expressionistic style made him a true individual and an inspiration to many 20th-century artists. Picasso was a great admirer of the master, and hints of El Greco's skill and influence are present throughout Picasso's work, from the Blue Period, to the start of Cubism and even into the Sixties.
