This travelling exhibition has arrived in Barcelona to showcase the intriguing landscape of Catalunya, aimed at promoting the diversity of traditional Catalan architecture. It focuses on the relationship between humans and land, seeking to reflect on the way lifestyles, technology, social relations, etc. are shaped by architectural elements, such as materials available for construction. The region’s rich cultural heritage has undoubtedly played a role in its development, and the exhibition also invites viewers to consider the current state of traditional buildings with respect to their functions.
Organised by the Department of Culture of the Generalitat of Catalonia, the exhibition promotes a different perspective of the city, with an enhanced appreciation for man’s relationship with the environment, and the historical underpinnings of the region’s landscape.
