The universal concept of decapitation is both shocking and abject. It is also intriguing, and this exhibition takes a look at the phenomenon from ancient times to our contemporary world. Produced by the Archaeology Museum of Catalunya, it presents to us archaeological evidence as well as art iconography in this exploration of severed heads throughout history. Audiovisual and interactive resources feature too, including scientific reconstruction of the face of a young, Iberian warrior, decapitated in the late third century BC.
