The aim behind the MACBA's autumn-winter 2009 show, Modernologies, is to try to find an answer to the question - how can the modern period be critically reflected in works of art and exposed to a new evaluation? This wide-ranging theme needs a wide-ranging response and the curator Sabine Breitwieser has sought out 130 works of art by more than 30 artists whose pieces defy traditional notions of modernity. Featured artists include John Knight, Gordon Matta-Clark and Martha Rosler.
