Turó de la Rovira, also known as Los Bunkers, is a recently restored historic space containing the remains of an anti-aircraft battery dating back to the Civil War. Not only does the site attract visitors for its heritage, it also boasts some of the best 360-degree views of the city. Somewhat off the beaten track, it’s a space relatively unexplored by tourists, but increasingly popular with locals.
Visitors can take a tour through the history of the Civil War and its effect on the city. This guided group tour, organised by the Museu Nacional d’Art de Catalunya, will begin in the museum, taking in its collection of paintings, sculptures and engravings dating back to the Civil War. Participants will then move onto the museum's iconic rooftop viewpoint, where strategic defence was organised during attacks on Barcelona. Finally, the tour will head up to the Turó de la Rovira to learn more about the location’s role within the battles, all while taking in the spectacular 360º views over the city. The perfect combination of history and discovery.
The tour is available only in Catalan. More information here.
