This painting exhibition by Barcelona-based artist, Ral, pulls on the emotional heart strings, with portraits That challenge whether emotions really exist, or if they are expressions of what we believe we need to feel according to society? The series of works feature realistic faces surrounded by abstraction, which represents our inner feelings of frustration, self-deception, vulnerability and more. It further relates to society, we representing the fears ought to feel, we must consume objects, people we love and the overarching should vulnerability of being in a controlled society. The underpinnings of the exhibition draws upon the artist's philosophy that we are blind when it comes to realising how little we are in control of our own decisions. Each portrait is beautifully created with depth, showcasing Ral's passion for experimenting with different mediums mixed with paint, colour: such as sprays, acrylics and watercolours, creating an interesting and unique series of works.
The inauguration of the exhibition begins at 8pm on September 28th. More information here.
