Massive Attack home
On the scene for 22 years, Heligoland is the fifth studio album of Massive Attack, whose frontmen Robert '3D' Del Naja and Grant 'Daddy G' Marshall were recently awarded the Ivor Novello award for Outstanding Contribution to British Music. Their sound, a mix of dub, electric, rock and hip-hop with a touch of jazz, has proved a lethal combination that has heard their music pumped from Bristol, England to clubs the world over. The band are renowned for trying new techniques and taking different creative approaches to each album leading to an ever changing, experimental style of music that has secured them a phenomenal fan base. Damon Albarn, of Gorillaz and Blur fame, appears in a couple of their new singles, including 'Splitting the Atom' and there are also vocal contributions from singers such as Hope Sandoval. Ironically you may know them best for the single 'Teardrop', the theme song for the TV series House but whether you are lifelong fans or newcomers to Massive Attack, there always seems be something new in their music to enjoy.
