Mark Redden (born Dublin, 1979) graduated from Dún Laoghaire Institute of Art, Design and Technology in fine art painting and sculpture and later from Crawford College of Art and Design in Cork. He has been living and working in Barcelona since 2008 and from February 12th is offering the unique opportunity to visit his private studio. His exhibition, ‘The Temple of the Last Arc’, is an exploration of the artist’s interest in nature, symbolism and architecture. Indeed, the word arc refers to one of the strongest architectural forms; it’s using this shape that human ribs, boats, bridges and the very core of the earth itself are constructed. His art employs symbols and loose forms that swirl in otherworldly landscapes, semi-recognisable forms that shift and mutate, inspiring imagery and thoughts that depend on the viewpoint and mind-frame of the observer.
Exhibition opens February 12th at 5pm, and runs until March 10th. More information here.
