What Happens in Halifax Stays in Halifax
a still from the work by Mario García Torres, 2004-2006
'It's embarrassing, but for some time now I've only had ideas in English' - such is called Espai 13's exhibition of Mexican born, Los Angeles based artist Mario García Torres. Working in film and multimedia projection, Torres is perhaps best known for his work What Happens in Halifax Stays in Halifax, an historical art work (referencing an event staged by conceptual artist Robert Barry in Halifax, Canada in 1969) which was included in the 52nd Venice Biennale. This work will be included in the exhibition.
The museum hosts an opening on Wednesday, December 16 at 7:30pm.
