Los Muebles de Charles and Ray Eames
La Sala Vinçon, in collaboration with Vitra, a furniture company which first began working with Charles and Ray Eames in 1957, are displaying work in honour of the designing couple's legacy, a century after Ray's birth.
The American couple, whose relation began on a strictly-business level, first worked together in 1940. Charles, the architect, brought structure and foundation to their working dynamic, while Ray contributed qualities based more in the art world. Their relationship took a turn for the better the following year when the couple married, and they embarked on a career spanning many years.
The exhibition itself is comprised of seven installation pieces, arranged by theme and composition, and is accompanied by unconventional accounts of how each piece was constructed, giving the viewer added insight into the world of this unique duo. Dedicating a whole month to 'Los Muebles de Charles y Ray Eames', La Sala Vinçon is offering free entry to see a capsule collection of home-wear history.
