Francisco Leiro: Esculturas
Fransisco Leiro's solo exhibition presents 12 sculptures accompanied by a selection of his drawings.
Carved with various types of wood, Leiro has acquired the ability to perfectly capture the gesture and movement of the human form, and his expressive figures are exhibited here in three groups. The first one depicts a series of human interactions that symbolise the frailty in man. The second sees four sculptures, two of which are making conversation, the others adopting an enigmatic attitude. The last of the groups is a collection of lattice work; relief carved onto large boards. Leiro also includes a selection of pencil drawings and watercolour on tracing paper.
Francisco Leiro has staged a wide selection of exhibitions across the world during the course of his career, including in Japan, the US and Holland.
