Diner en Blanc
The Paris original of this all-white picnic attracts thousands of attendees
First conceived in Paris by François Pasquier as a way by which he could reconnect with friends with whom he had fallen out of touch, Le Diner en Blanc has now become something of a global success. The last event held in Paris attracted over 15,000 people while 30,000 people signed up online for the New York event.
Participants (dressed all in white) convene in a location agreed just days before the event and are then whisked off to a secret venue for the picnic itself. Those in attendance then pass the night picnicking and conversing with their fellow attendees. Participants are asked to bring a table, chairs (which must be white) and a picnic basket.
