Two of Barcelona's main art venues, the Fundació Foto Colectania and Fundació Suñol, are collaborating on a joint exhibition of photographs taken from the collection of Martin Z. Margulies.

Under the name 'The dwelling-place of man', the shows feature 165 images by 50 photographers that focus on the theme of how people live in different parts of the world, how they interact with their surroundings and leave their mark on the places they visit each day. Some of the more famous photographers whose work you can see include Walker Evans, Dorothea Lange and Lee Friedlander.

Margulies has been collecting art for more than 50 years, with works including paintings, scuplture and video as well as photography. The idea for the show came about thanks to his friendship with the current president of Foto Colectania, Mario Rotllant; and the exhibition is coproduced with the Fundación Barríe, a private foundation that has a keen focus on classic works of photography.
