The Gran Teatre del Liceu continues its season featuring some of the world's best-known operas with Puccini's La Bohème, here in Barcelona for a three-week run.
There will be 18 performances of the opera that tells the tragic love story of Mimi and Rodolfo who are part of a group of bohemian friends, all living in the romantic city of Paris in the 19th century. Starting life as a novel, that then became a play and finally an opera, which had initially cool reviews but was welcomed by audiences when it was first performed in 1896.
