Organised in conjunction with Serveis Funeraris de Barcelona and Grup Mémora, Barcelona's Museu Diocesàis currently showing an exhibition dedicated to the culture of funerals in the present day and the past.
'The other side of life' looks at death as a part of life and how it has been treated by different cultures from the Paleolithic times to the present day. Using 125 pieces to illustrate how death rituals were celebrated in different places at different periods, the exhibition includes information on the Classical era and the Iberian Peninsula.
As well as being educational regarding past cultures, the show also hopes to give visitors a more reflective vision of death and look at the modern-day systems and technology that our society uses at the time of a person's passing.
