Kris Kristofferson is nothing less than a legend. He is an award-winner in his own right, has written songs for some of the biggest names in country music, including Johnny Cash, and has had a more than successful career as a film actor.
But did you also know that he studied English at Oxford? Or that he was a helicopter in the US army and that when he decided to leave the forces to be a songwriter, his family effectively disowned him? In the Eighties, he formed part of country music supergroup The Highwaymen alongside Willie Nelson, Cash and Waylon Jennings. A far cry from the time he worked as janitor at Colombia Studios in Nashville when he was too fearful for his job to try to listen to Bob Dylan recording sessions.
