Young dancer, José Maya takes the stage in Barcelona as part of the Carmen Amaya Festival, which aims to preserve the purity, essence, and spontaneity of Flamenco dance.
Born into a family filled with a variety of different kinds of artists, José Maya has made a name for himself as a talented young dancer. As part of the Tomatito sextet, he has performed in a large majority of the most important dance festivals in the world and has collaborated with a number of international artists such as Beyoncé, Marc Anthony, and Björk.
He will lead the last cycle of the second edition of the Carmen Amaya Festival, accompanied by singer Simón Román, José Andrés Cortés on guitar, and Lucky Losada on percussion. This will be the only opportunity to see José Maya perform in a space like Tablao de Carmen here in Barcelona.
