To Javier Carles, a flower is not always just a flower.
Flowers are also a way of raising awareness and conveying feelings, according to the artist. Throughout July, H2O will host Javier Carles's second exhibition titled 'Nasci. El lenguaje de las flores' which translates as 'the language of flowers'.
What is special about this particular series of photographs is that it was taken with a Polaroid SX70, a camera that is now obsolete and enables the production of bright colours with a plastic-like look and quality. The effect is said to change and twist the appearance of the flower demonstrating photography's ability to transform the natural into the artificial.
