Jazz drummer and band leader Art Blakely rose to fame in the Fourties, playing in jazz big bands and working with bebop musicians such as Charlie Parker. His jazz collective, the Jazz Messengers, which he co-founded with fellow jazz musician Horace Silver, became known for nurturing young talent. One such talent was saxophonist and jazz tenor Jean Toussaint, member of the Jazz Messengers between1982 and 1986. Now, Toussaint pays tribute to his time in the band with this concert as part of the Mas i Mas festival.
