To mark its 75th anniversary, the MNAC has collected a selection of masterpieces of Catalan art from the Middle Ages to the 20th century, on loan from private collections, Catalan, European and American museums, and ecclesiastical archives. Some 70 works are on show that feature art styles Romanic, Gothic, Renaissance, Barroque, 19th century and the first three decades of the 20th; and the pieces cover a range of formats including paint on canvas and wood, murals, stone, marble and metal sculptures, manuscripts and furniture.
