The term 'guiri' is placed upon many a northern European when they arrive in Spain. It is a term which defines us as foreigners and outsiders and for many of us is offensive. This exhibition, however, celebrates the very word. The photographers Miquel Casals McAuley and Pere García Ejby document the arrival of the 'guiris' in the Seventies to the Catalan costal area of Maresme. focussing on those who came, stayed, adapted and got themselves a tan. As Spain struggles to adapt to recent waves of immigration, it's a fascinating insight into how those of us with Nordic roots are seen here.
