Summer is here and so is the Grec, a well-programmed cultural festival that makes the most of the outdoors. This year's line-up might not carry the same weight as years past, but there's plenty to keep theatre and dance buffs happy and families will love the circus programme. Jazz lovers get their turn in the wonderful open-air Teatre Grec on Montjuic this year, with the likes of the McCoy Tyner Trio with Joe Lovano and the Billie Holiday inspired Dee Dee Bridgewater schlepping up the hill. For English theatre, Bijan Sheibani's Eurydice (pictured) comes recommended.

For those who don't get to go the Teatre Grec, but are looking for a festival experience (or those looking for something to eat pre or post-show), every evening of the festival this year, whether or not there's a performance at the Teatre Grec, there will be a restaurant open in the gardens of the theatre, which have recently been restored. For the third year running, Barcelona restaurant Sifó has been invited to serve evening meals for the 50 nights that the festival is running in the beautiful surrounds of the Teatre Grec, which also offers marvellous views of Montjuïc and the city.
