David Campos's takes 'Giselle' into the 21st century
Gender violence, deception, and misplaced superiority of men over women are all universal themes that unfortunately exist to this day. Many cultures also have legends of spirits of girls who have come back to seek revenge on those who have mistreated them. David Campos takes these two concepts with the ballet 'Giselle' and transports the finished result into modern times with not only its characters, but also his choreography.
This show speaks to all different cultures and mainly sympathises with battered women victims of male violence. With Campos's relentless desire to bring ballet into the mainstream, the show should be a beautiful rendition of the original version with a modern twist, don't miss out!
Please note that the run of this ballet has been extended until July 17th.
