On Saturday May 26th, the third GastroPop food festival will take place at Poble Espanyol.
For the previous two occasions, GastroPop aimed to recover Catalan gastronomic traditions and popular culture in order to bring the the country's cuisine into the limelight, celebrating pork and calçots (popular local onions that are eaten grilled and with a specially-prepared sauce. Find out more here).
This time round, GastroPop will celebrate the rice and paella dishes of Catalunya, by hosting a market selling quality Catalan products, holding tasting sessions, workshops and other cultural activities.
There will also be a lunch (priced at a very reasonable €12), which will consist of bread, wine, seafood paella or an artichokes dish, and (of course) dessert, which remains unannounced. You'll just have to go along to find out!
