Josep Riera i Aragó will showcase a unique collection in Barcelona that includes some of his best pieces from 1981 to 2015. The Catalan artist, who studied at the Faculty of Fine Arts in Barcelona, is known for designing pieces that resemble planes, submarines and zeppelins in an artistic and abstract form. The collection is entitled ‘D’Avions i Submarins’ and includes a range of drawings, paintings and sculptures. Riera i Arago often uses bronze and iron in his sculptures that give his planes and submarines the illusion of floating. He is also known for his public art pieces, and some of his work is on display at the Fundació Joan Miró in Barcelona.
The artist will be in attendance at the exhibition’s inauguration on September 29th. Entrance is free and it will run until January 5th.
