Gabarró vs Pffaf
Carles Gabarró is an Expressionist artist characterised by his works of flesh and gore. He fills the entire canvas with brutality and bloodshed, and his creations are often repetitive. Gabarró prefers to work quickly with his immediacy noticeable in his paintings. The artist has been a resident of the Piramidón since 1992.
Guillermo Pfaff, on the other hand, has only recently joined the Piramidón, having become a resident in 2012. His work revolves around the questioning of pictorial language. Unlike Gabarró, Pfaff works through mediums such as paper, cloth and sculptural material. Also in contrast to Gabarró's instantaneous pieces, Pfaff tends to put a lot of research into his work as he describes it as part of his creative process.
