From March 4th until May 21st, the Foto Colectania Foundation will exhibit over one hundred photographs compiled by French historian and photography theorist Michel Frizot during the course of his last decades. The collection is composed of a selection of images from unknown authors, press photographers and photography enthusiasts from various eras that captured Frizot’s attention.
With the exhibition aiming to explore what constitutes an enigma in the world of photography, Frizot commented: "With this selection, I came to the conclusion that every photograph is an enigma. And the latter does not originate by an effect, a style or for a specific talent. On the contrary, it is an essential element of the very same photographic act. The enigma is born from the distance that exists between humans perception and the photosensitive capture of the camera, and the result is an overflow of our senses."
