Barcelona Games World 2016 is the city's festival for video game fanatics. Organised by the Asociación Española de Videojuegos and Fira Barcelona, the four-day event held in Montjuïc includes demonstrations of the latest releases in the world of gaming, competitions for both professional and amateur gamers and a ‘party zone’ with street food and live DJs. You can also buy tickets for the event’s Games Party on October 7th from 6-11pm for just €6. If cosplay (dressing up as comic book or video game characters) is more your thing, there will be also be a competition for the best costume held on the last day of the festival, with prizes of up to €250.
Tickets start at €12 online or €15 on the door for October 7th, 8th and 9th, when the event is open to the public. There are also 2,000 VIP tickets available for October 6th, which is aimed specifically at professionals—for €24, gamers will have exclusive access to the first day of the show.
