Are you a food and drink trade professional? Then this is the event for you. Alimentaria is a bi-annual food and beverage exhibition that, from April 25th until 28th, is temporarily transforming Barcelona into the world’s gastronomic capital. Taking place at the Fira Gran Via exhibition centre, the four-day event hosts a number of industry professionals as they present the latest global food and drink innovations, alongside food and drink-related activities and exhibitions. For those seeking business opportunities, the Alimentaria Hub provides a forum that focuses on branding, trends and internationalisation, while the Alimentaria Experience sees a number of Michelin-starred chefs delivering a series of workshops and cooking demonstrations. As well as hosting talks and wine-tasting opportunities, Vinorum will showcase the most trendsetting Spanish wines, as revealed by renowned experts, critics and sommeliers. ‘Spain, the Land of 100 Cheeses’ offers a tasting of over 200 different Spanish cheeses, accompanied by all kinds of bread, crudités and fruits, as well as a range of Catalan wines and craft beer. Other exhibitions include an olive oil bar and Halal supermarket. Alimentaria 2016 is set to attract over 4,000 leading food and drink manufacturers from across 75 different countries. Given that it is internationally ranked as the third most influential trade show of its kind in the sector, its 2016 edition promises to cook up a storm. If bought online before April 10th, a one-day ticket costs €25, while tickets to attend the entire four-day event are priced at €40.
