Films de dones
The Mostra Internacional de Films de Dones is a project created to focus the public on the art of film-making as conceived by women and explores the contribution of women to the global film scene.
This year, the Mostra remembers the philosopher Hannah Arendt and includes the screening of a documentary film about Arendt by Margarethe von Trotta. Many of the film screenings will also have the directors on hand. The career of Liv Ullman is also a highlight of this year’s edition with a program organised jointly with the Filmoteca and the Norwegian Film Institute.
During the weekend of May 24th-26th, the CCCB is holding the 'Després del Conflicte' (After the Conflict) season with In uno stato libero by Paola Piacenza, The Bookseller of Belfast by Alessandra Celesia and Palabras mágicas by Mercedes Moncada.
In June, Panorama presents the very latest women’s film works in collaboration with the Filmoteca de Catalunya. It is an opportunity to see films such as Lesbiana – A Parallel Revolution by Myriam Fougère; Sé villana. La sevilla del Diablo by María Cañas, Se fa saber by Zoraida Rosselló and El jurado de Paula Markovitch, among others.
In the open-air program, one of the films screened, Inch’allah by Anaïs Barbeau-Lavette, will take place on June 4th at the Plaça de la Virreina (10pm). The director of the film will also be there.
