Established in 1974, the Phonos Laboratory was opened by Josep Maria Mestres Quadreny, Andrés Lewin-Richter and Lluís Callejo; it was a space dedicated to the experimentation of electro music.
Showing at the Museu de la Música, Phonos, 40 years of electronic music in Barcelona explores the way in which Phonos have helped to shape Barcelona´s love affair with electronic music. The exciting exhibition looks at the collection of ten instruments that have formed part of Phonos from the beginning (think synthesizers, tape recorders, samplers and more).
The museum is open: Tuesday to Saturday and Public Holidays, from 10 am to 6 pm. Sundays, from 10 am to 8 pm. Mondays closed (except holidays April 21, June 9 and December 8).
