Rosenkavalier - home
Der Rosenkavalier takes place during the reign of the Empress Maria Teresa and was created by Richard Strauss at the start of the 20th century as an homage to Mozart—Strauss's character of Octavian was based on Cherubino from The Marriage of Figaro. Last performed at the Liceu in the mid-Eighties, this production is the creation of the Semperoper Sächsische Staatsoper Dresden, with musical direction by Michael Boder and stage design under the direction of Uwe Eric Laufenberg.
Performances will be held on the following dates: May 10th, 13th, 19th, 22nd, 25th and 28th at 8pm; May 16th at 5pm. The opera lasts around four hours.
