Densha Otoko, Train Man
As part of CaixaForum's 'Japonismo' season, they are showing Densha Otoko (translated as The Train Man), a film based on the supposed true story of a 23-year-old otaku (geek) who intervenes when a drunk man starts to harass several women on a train and how he fell in love with one of the women that he helped.
The story turned into an overnight sensation in Japan after an anonymous user (apparently the otaku, but this has never been clarified) began to post on the hugely popular Japanese internet forum, 2channel, asking users for advice about this woman. The tale has since been turned into a novel, four manga adaptations, a film and a television series.
