On September 27th, 2009, French football club Girondins de Bordeaux played Rennes to a backdrop of fans, cheers, and philosophical slogans. Madrid-based art collective, Democracia, collaborated with the Bordeaux team's fanclub, the Ultramarines, to stage an art intervention on the football field. Drafted in the colours and icons of the football club, their signs, flags, and t-shirts embraced the activity of spectating: “The truth is always revolutionary”; “No idols”; “Pain is the only nobility”; “The main battlefield is the enemy’s mind". The event, 'Ne vous laissez pas consoler' ('Don't allow yourselves be consoled'), is presented in lush and sports-ecstatic photographs at ADN Galería.
