It's not clear what setbacks frontman John McCauley has suffered but what is obvious is that his ability to transmit his emotions onto paper is quite effortless.
A hint of Dylan and Neil Young is easy to spot when listening to the group from Rhode Island. The crackly, hurting vocals will hit the right note for anyone let down in love or life but could cause speculation as to whether the group are dumped and made homeless immediately before each performance. They are not depressing but enticing in an infectiously downbeat way. Check out their latest album The Black Dirt Sessions to understand what that means or alternatively get tickets to Sidecar on January 31st.
