Barcelona-based Mark Redden is one of the few currach (traditional Irish rowing boat) builders in the world. Four of his boats will take to the Mediterranean on September 24th for a sixteen-team race of international rowers. Hosted by Reial Club Maritim Barcelona and organised by Iomramh Cultural Aassociation, the event can be considered just the beginning - music and drinks will follow the race in a traditional Irish knees-up.
