Mexican artist Lourdes Grobet uses a number of different media, including photography and performance, to explore the views of those rarely given the opportunity to express them. Having presented exhibitions worldwide, with nods to themes such as the student movement of the 1960s and 1970s and feminism, she now brings her exploration of Mexican lucha libre wrestling to Barcelona, as part of the MXaBCN_International Festival of Mexico. Having explored the popular Mexican sport over the last 30 years, this photo project looks beyond the wrestling ring to consider more personal aspects of the wrestling world and the lives of the male and female wrestlers, such as family and meeting places. There will be over 40 previously unpublished large-format photographs on display, as well as screening of material from Grobet's photographic collection on the theme. Works from artists Miguel Valiñas and Félix Blume are also exhibited.
